Apple on Wednesday announced an overhaul of its iPods. a revamp of its Apple TV box, and a new social media network in iTunes. The new Apple box is dramatically tinier than the previous version, at one fourth the size. By going to a rental model, users won't have to deal with managing the hard drive of the device, because everything will be streamed. The entire line of iPods has been redesigned, with a touchscreen added to the Nano, a new look for the Shuffle and a significant upgrade for the iPod Touch. New features include sharper screen resolution and cameras on front and back, which gives it the ability to handle Apple's FaceTime video chats. The iPod Touch will cost $229 for 8 GB, 32 GB for $299 and 64 GB for $399. And finally, Steve Jobs introduced Ping, with it, users will be able to follow friends and see what music they have purchased or enjoyed, what concerts they plan to attend and what music they have reviewed.
